Who is behind Sekona

Manuel Walder, Founder & Security Architect

Sekona was founded by security architect Manuel Walder. He brings more than 20 years of experience in cybersecurity and has supported software manufacturers and development teams in secure product development for years. Most recently, he built the application security portfolio at a managed security service provider. He also serves as an expert on several committees.

OWASP: At OWASP, the world’s largest foundation for software security, Manuel Walder is active in various roles and working groups. He also co-leads OWASP Switzerland, where he regularly organizes events and workshops.
Standardization: Manuel Walder is a national expert at ISO JTC 1/SC 27/WG 4 and at CEN/CLC/JTC 13/WG 9, where he works on horizontal standards for the Cyber Resilience Act.
Research: In 2026 Manuel Walder is working on a study at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts on how securely Swiss software manufacturers develop today and what the Cyber Resilience Act changes for them.
